The indoor Tryst has six sumptuous bedrooms done in individual style – Indian, Italian, Egyptian, Victorian, Spanish and Country Cottage – depending on the wall décor, bedside table lamps, beverage making facilities, the somewhat incongruous Sky television, and enthralling en-suite bathrooms which make ablutions a grand experience. Three sitting areas, billiards room, a recreation room which has a gym and various board games, and a delectable library with an excellent medley of books, magazines, comics etc to satisfy all – a favourite haunt of the guests.
The outdoor Tryst has two lawns (to play boule); three gazebos; ponds and waterfall; topiary; fruit, vegetable and herb gardens; organic, of course. Six secluded sit–outs scattered around the gardens for your privacy – bird-watching, reading, writing, sketching, day-dreaming etc.
There are no palaces, forts, museums and temples in the Nilgiris. It is a place for natural beauty. But, as the weather here is as capricious as in Britain, your holiday is not an entire disaster as The Tryst can keep you reasonably occupied with its varied and wondrous facilities, variously described as a museum-art gallery-library-entertainment establishment.
Our cooks are from the local village and prepare tantalizing traditional Indian dishes, and Ann has taught them the delicacies of European cuisine.
Driver accommodation with hot water and meals – something which few other places provide.
We can arrange vehicle hire besides the usual laundry, telephone, xerox, and internet facilities.
And you have a ‘quack’ in the house!!
Tobaccophiles – Welcome.
Tipplers – Welcome. You can bring your own brand, if you so wish.
Omnivores – Welcome.
Children- Only if they are invisible!
Pets – Sorry, no. We have our own.
Physically disabled – We can manage.
Mentally disabled – We cannot manage.
Well, you can see that we offer more than any other similar establishment or hotel. So make a tryst with THE TRYST.
The Tryst is a holiday of a different kind that will stay in your memory long after it is over.
The Tryst is closed from May to September every year.
